Election 2008 AKA; The evil you know or the evil you don’t know

This election has gotten ugly, and it won’t get any better. The days of candidates running on the issues and intelligent debate are long gone, and sadly they won’t be back any time soon. Now it’s a matter of who can scare the hell out of you the most about the other guy. So little time is spent on the issues it’s hard to know what the real issues are in America. Sure we know the economy is a shambles, the war is a mess, and this administration lies, but what about gun control or the schools? I know the war and economy are the more pressing problems and should be addressed first, but both candidates seem to be avoiding everything else.

For instance do any of us know what Obama thinks on immigration, or John McCain’s’ views on jobs going overseas? These are issues as well yet they seem to be more interested in winning than doing a good job. This tells me one thing for sure; in four years, no matter who wins they will then be more interested in keeping their job than doing their job well. I know I know, it’s nothing new, but at least before they acted like they cared about what they were doing. They used to make us believe they were trying.

The media is probably the number one cause of this but who really knows for sure. I mean do they act this way because of the media or does the media do this because they act this way? Wow, that can give me a headache. I got to cut this short tonight, but I just hope one of these ding-a-lings can convince of something sooner or later. I’m about to lose faith in the whole system. Night folks!

Liberalism, shmiberalism..

I am so tired of political labels. If you like Gw and his administration you are a conservative, if you think he’s an idiot you’re a liberal. Well I got news for you folks; GW and his ditto-heads are idiots in my opinion and according to the media that makes me a liberal.

OK so I’m a liberal, but by being a liberal doesn’t that mean I should hate guns, hate money, hate religion, and embrace socialism? Well surprise! I don’t hate any of those things and I am in no hurry to hug a socialist. So then I must be a confused conservative. Well if I am a conservative I must hate all dissenting opinion, hate minorities (who don’t vote republican at least), love my religion (but hate yours), and be motivated solely by money and power. Well I must be one very confused conservative because that doesn’t fit me either.

So what am I an Independent? Well I really can’t say yes or no to that because I don’t understand what exactly they stand for, and for that matter neither do most of them from what I gather. From what I see an independent is someone who wants his cake and likes to eat it as well. They want to be nice to minorities but not too nice, they want to save the environment but not too much, and they want to be rich but not too rich. Talk about confusing!

Ok then I must be for the Green Party. No, I don’t think so; these guys scare me the most out of all of them. A party full of PETA people no thank you. Forgive my ignorance if I’m wrong but that is the idea I get when I see them out at fairs and such. Sure I want animals to be well treated but sometimes these people go way too far; with all the fake reports of animal cruelty they generate in the media and Utube videos of complete nonsense, these people are borderline psychopaths.

Libertarian? Exactly what the heck is a libertarian anyway, can anyone of you tell me honestly? I have no idea about them other than they are almost conservative. Kind of like Republican-Light or fat-free conservative.

When it’s all said and done I am an American plain and simple. I appreciate my religion and yours, and believe we each have the right to choose our own freely and without oppression. I believe that Abortion is an issue that can only be decided by a woman (let there be a vote on it excluding all men and we will get the best answer). I believe that everyone should be taxed fairly. I believe that same sex marriage is none of my business and ridiculous to make a federal law for or against it. I believe that any infringement on our rights is a threat to all of us. I believe I should have the right to bear arms in defense of my home and to protect myself from all enemies both foreign and domestic. I believe that making things better for the wealthiest 10% is not always going to make things better for me. I believe in equality and justice for all. And I believe our founding documents are as close to divinity of purpose as we humans can ever get.

Lastly, I believe each of us has the right to our own opinion and we should voice that opinion as best we can. Without this we cannot govern ourselves and our government will have no one holding them accountable.

I will leave you with one last question; Has anything ever been better when the richest 10% go unchecked? Well it wasn’t so good for the Romans, French, Chinese, Russians, Germans, and virtually every other country or empire you can name.

Smear politics 2008

Well in case you didn’t notice yet it’s an election year. You can tell because the smear books and party-purchased authors are selling millions of books based on BS. They call them factual and informative, but all they really do is spout off innuendo and party propaganda to a generation of ditto-heads that believe anything they are told first or the loudest. The latest is a smear book by the same guy who co-authored the book a few years ago about John Kerry’s war record. You may remember the “swift boat veterans for peace” who were for the truth even if they had to make it up themselves.

Now I’m not going to name the author or his books in this post because he is not going to get any help from me, and neither are his ridiculous novels. That being said he writes for a website called worlddaily.net (I’m not going to link to them either); in my opinion it’s just a conservative trash disposal posing as a political website. The author has a PHD in political science from Harvard but seems to have trouble discerning fact from utter nonsense, and has the same affliction bothering so many right wing talk radio and TV hosts. The affliction I refer to is what I like to call “Anti-social, Homophobic, overt or Latent Syndrome” or “ASHOLS” for short. This disease affects Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, and nearly everyone working at Fox News, and will most likely be considered an epidemic by the CDC very soon. For brevity’s sake I will hence forth call these people “ASHOLS”.

These “ASHOLS” have been a thorn in my side since GW’s first election and continue to get my Ire up every time they speak, post, or write. These “ASHOLS” must be stopped at all costs or our society will be forced to conform to the conservative mindset or perish. If we continue to tolerate their brand of social-political repression the intelligence levels across the country will drop until we all talk like GW. “Bushim’s” will replace properly formed sentences, and truth will be reduced to what we hear on Fox News.

This is why I am forming a group dedicated to the abolition of these fear and hate mongering snake oil salesman in $10,000 dollar suits. The group will be called the “Anti-ASHOLS Society” or A-ASHOLSS for short. So get ready and practice your acronyms and abbreviations while I get the ball rolling on this. I’ll get back soon and let you know my progress. A-ASHOLSS unite!
